Finding Home in Myself -Balancing Chinese, Bolivian, Canadian & More
Episode 23 - November 18th, 2020
Where is home? Not just the physical place, a country, a city, a house
What culture feels like home?
Where do we belong?
For Third Culture Kids, these questions can be difficult to answer.
Laura Keung was born in Argentina to her Chinese dad and Bolivian mom.
But that was just the beginning of a long tally of cultures she balanced along the way.
From the start, she felt a clash of cultures and lack of belonging. 30+ years and several cultures later, Laura is finding home where it had been all along… in herself.
Listen to hear how the rest of these cultures fit into her story:
USA, Canadian, Italian, Austrian, German

Laura the Foodie
Here’s a great recipe for Bolivian Cuñapé—an amazing tea time bread like delicacy. It’s cheesy and best of all, gluten free!
Bolivian Peanut Soup is another one of my favourites for lunch—I love the fries on the soup. Could we call this a sort of Bolivian poutine? Haha.
Here’s a recipe for Char Siu—it’s Chinese bbq pork—one of my faves to eat when we go to Hong Kong.

Laura the Entrepreneur
I’m the owner and designer behind Laura Keung Studio. I love to join forces with women-led businesses who understand the value of design and brand strategy.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs and my journey started back in 2008. I landed my very first client as I was starting university. In 2017, I followed my husband to Munich and founded this baby of mine. Fast forward a few years and I truly can’t image doing anything else.
Women Entrepreneurs
I love helping my community, I’m a proud co-founder of the Women Entrepreneurs of Munich organisation. We offer workshops, online and IRL meetups for ex-pat women living in Munich. We help them navigate the amazing and often rough path of becoming an entrepreneur and business owner.
