Episode 19 Part 1
Let’s Start with Vocabulary
Everyone has to start somewhere.
Even then, it’s a learning curve for everyone.
Seth Day is here to talk through all my questions about gender, gender identity and more. As an educator, he loves helping others who are open to learn.
He is also the host of Rad Child Podcast where they use books, expert feedback and personal experiences to help parents raise a generation of compassionate, open, rad kids. (On Instagram and Facebook)
*Correction: Seth said “First Nations” when speaking about the 2 Spirit identity. He would like to correct himself. This term applies to Canadian Indigenous folks. He would have liked to have said “North American Indigenous Folks”.
Episode 19 Part 2
Things You Should NEVER Ask a Trans Person
The conversation continues with Seth Day.
If Seth had to make a flow chart about asking trans people questions:
- Am I ever going to see this person again?
- Why is it important to me?
- What am I really asking?
- Can I Google this?
In the end, ask first if they have the energy or headspace to answer questions before asking the question.
Listen to Episodes 19-21 for more perspectives and tips for being an ally.
